Thoracic Mobility Class
For this class you will need some wall space, blanket for padding and yoga blocks possibly for lunges.
In this class we focus on the spine, warming up in all directions and then spending extra time on rotation. We also work on shoulder strength and mobility to support us well in side plank rotations, adductor strength for support in the lunges. All the rotation work in different orientations to gravity just might help you get the most of out of your twists in the lunges and wide legged forward fold. New Ways to Build Core Strength and Body Awareness
In this class we continue our look into anti-rotation work in a new way to build core strength, body awareness and integration. This strength and stability will help all throughout class.
You will need a slider blanket or paper plate/plastic bag and yoga blocks. This class was filmed live July 31, 2021.
Circular Movement of the Spine
In this class we work on moving the spine in all directions. You will need a long resistance band, a blanket and blocks.
We start with a dynamic warm up rolling around on the ground to prepare for more movements upright. We take a long hold for our hip flexors and then strengthen and lengthen them with the support of the resistance band. We end class with circling into our lunging twists. Skandasana Side Lunge Class
For this class you will need a resistance band, blanket for padding and blocks.
Warm up your shoulders in this reclining resistance band sequence. From there we strengthen the anterior abdominal wall and stretch out the hip flexors from kneeling. We work towards deeper squats and a slide lunging squat known in yoga as skandasana. This class was filmed live July 10, 2021 with the help of my friend Flora.
Peeling Open Into Twists
For this class you will need pillow or blanket and blocks are helpful.
We start off decompressing the spine in cat cows to make more space in the spine to work on twists. We use the arms to assist getting deeper into twists and then continue this work in the standing poses. This class was filmed live July 3, 2021.
Plank Pose Fun
Try out some different takes on plank and side plank in this class. You will need one firm block, one soft block if possible and a blanket for padding. You also might want to put your hands on the wall of furniture to help with balance for part of the class.
We start out with a relaxing reclining warm up and then work towards twisting, and shoulder, hip and core strength, all needed for the fun plank variations. From there we try out a deep lunging twist with optional crossed arm. This class was filmed live June 26, 2021.
Breathing into Twists
For this class you will need a blanket and yoga blocks.
We start off warming up the spine and dropping into awareness of our breathing in childs pose and cat cow movements of the spine. Then we do deeper longer twists while laying down. How do these twists influence how you breath when you try downward dog again? From there we continue out awareness of breathing in the standing poses. This class was filmed live July 24, 2021.
Blanket Yoga
For this class you will need a blanket and yoga blocks. In this sequence we use the blanket as a big hug to start off the class. This is a great way to get feedback on where you can feel your breathing. From there we continue to use the blanket in novel ways, working on hand strength while using it as a strap and then later pulling ourselves deeper into twists using the blanket. Get Twisted
Let's roll around and stretch out. This sequence feels so good. You will need a blanket as a pillow and some yoga blocks. We rock and roll in the beginning so pad up your mat if you need it. In this class we work towards so deeper twists, revolved triangle pose and revolved half moon pose. This class was filmed live June 5, 2021.
Wrist Care Class for Side Plank Pose
For this class you will need a weight you can lift over head easily or a large water bottle or something you can hold easily that has some weight to it. You will also need a blanket and yoga blocks and a spot as the wall.
In this class we slow down and give our wrists extra attention. As you take the class see if the warm ups help plank pose feel better. In caring for our wrists we also stretch the neck and chest muscles. We work towards side plank poses. This class was filmed live May 22, 2021.
In Appreciation of Our Bodies
Our bodies are amazing and do some much for us. Take this hour class to really tune in a appreciate and love on your body. You will need yoga blocks and a blanket.
We start out with a slow and mindful warm up laying down. We touch on the shoulders as we come to stand and then do a little extra for the hips from our seated 90/90 position. All the warm ups help prepare us for a sequences of yoga asanas that flow together. This class was filmed live May 15, 2021.
Rotating the Pelvis in Different Orientations to Gravity
For this class it is helpful to start at the wall, you will need yoga blocks and a blanket for padding. Our hips are responsible for rotation, but when we don't utilize this movement we lose it.
In this class we work on gaining rotational movement in the pelvis in novel ways and different orientations to gravity. We then take this into our exploration of triangle pose and pyramid pose. This class was filmed live May 1, 2021.
Changing Orientation to Gravity
For this class you will need wall space, yoga blocks, and a blanket.
In this class we work on balancing the hips, improving mobility while side-lying and practice familiar shoulder work while standing. This same shoulder work takes on a whole new meaning while lying face down. Try out this challenging shoulder sequence and see how upright you feel as we practice tree pose and dancers pose! This class was filmed live April 25, 2021.
Posture Perfect
For this class you will need a blanket and yoga blocks.
There is no one set perfect posture, but this class will help get your body feeling long and strong and ready to move well through different positions. We touch on the shoulders and the hips and then fly in Warrior III. This class was filmed live April 17, 2021.
Hello Adductors
For this you will need yoga blocks, a blanket and a chair.
Adductors play a big role in how our pelvis sits in neutral and how it moves throughout the day and in our yoga practice. We work on lengthening and strengthening in different positions including the Copenhagen side plank. Warrior II never felt so good, and possibly skandasana as well! This class was filmed live April 10, 2021.
Standing Tall for Dolphin Pose
For this class you will need a 4-5 foot dowel, two yoga blocks and a blanket. We also use the wall for part of the warm up (could us a heavy piece of furniture). In this class we work on creating more space in the inner body and balancing the front and back body so that we can stand taller. Both the latissimus dorsi and the pectoralis major muscles can really effect our posture, we target these two muscles to help balance the front and back body, and be able to to take the arms over head standing and in dolphin pose at the end of class. This class was filmed live April 3, 2021.
Resistance Bands: Tall and Twisting
For this class you will need one long loop band and a mini loop band, you may also want yoga blocks and a blanket for padding. If you prefer not to put weight on your knees you can use a chair for parts of the class.
In this class we start out warming up laying down and slowly progress to some more dynamic movements. You have options to rotate and push up into side plank. Rotation work while is side plank is an incredible way to wake up shoulder and hip mobility, strength, and coordination. And it is a fun challenge! We the progress to twisting in hands and knees using the band to make it first harder and then easier to twist. From standing we work on front body support to help us stay long and strong in poses like warrior III and side angle pose. We then tie this length back into highlighting the twisting aspect of standing poses. This class was filmed live March 27, 2021.
Resistance Bands: Upavistha Konasana and Dandasana
For this class you will need a 3-4 foot long resistance band with loops tied into each end. You can use two bands doubled up if you want to increase to load, works well if you have lighter bands since we are working mostly with the legs in this sequence. You will also need a blanket or something to sit on.
In this class we enjoy the support of the resistance bands in helping us to upright out spine while seated. We also work closely with the feet and ankles while laying down and then continue the work in the standing poses. It just may help you to feel more balanced in tree pose. Yoga with Sliding Part 3
For this class you will need a blanket for sliding, a chair and a strap.
In this class find your hamstring and calf strength first and then incorporate this with hips in sliding in out of lunges in the standing poses. We work towards a flow of poses at the chair and the try it again from the floor for more challenge. This class was filmed live March 13, 2021.
Yoga with a Dowel Part 3
For this class you need a 5 foot dowel, a blanket and a door way.
In this class we work more closely with shoulder mobility and external rotation specifically and then use it at the end of class in handstand variations. We also check in with hip mobility and try out a fun squat variation in a door frame. This class was filmed live March 6, 2021.
