Slow Stretch Class

For this class you will need a bolster or pillow, strap and blocks.

We start out laying over the bolster to stretch out our side bodies and work on breathing. From there we do a long warm up sequence lying down including the leg stretches with the strap. From there we work on shoulders and spine and then a deeper hip warm up at the wall. We use all this opening in the standing poses and then rest. This class was recorded live July 5, 2022.

Slow and Steady with Adductors

For this class you will need a blanket or two and blocks and some wall space.

We start out relining for the warm up and side lying to work on breathing, twisting, and adductor strength. From there we work on adductors again from all fours. The we move to standing for shoulder work and strengthening at the wall. We put it all together in a standing flow. This class was filmed live June 4, 2022.

Dynamic Movements with Breathing Focus

For this class you will need a little wall space, blocks, a bolster, and a blanket or pillow to pad you knees.

We start out slow opening up the side body laying over a bolster. This helps to deepen the breathing and lengthen the the hip flexors. From there we continued to warm up laying down and then moved to standing warm ups. Here we worked more on shoulders and side body lengthening. We then built into dynamic movements to work on the skills and mobility required for squatting and took bear crawl back into a squat. Then we worked on standing poses. Anti-Rotation Work for Backcare

For this class you will need blocks and a blanket, optional hand weight (5-10 pounds) and a spot at the wall.

We start off warming up laying down and do a little extra to fire up our core. From there we move to standing to get the shoulders and hips warmed up. Throughout class we alternate between work where we are trying not to rotate (anti rotation work) and where we are working on twisting. Moving between these two we build body awareness, control, and lots of stability through the spine. And a stable spine is a happy spine! This class was filmed live April 18, 2022.

Pigeon Pose Variations Part 1

For this class you will need a strap, bolster, blankets, and blocks.

We start out laying down and emphasis the breathing during the warm up. This can help create more space in the inner body and aid in ease of movement. From there we continue to work into the shoulders and rest of the body as well in standing. We flow through standing poses to get deeper into twists and build strength in the body. At then of class we try out an upright version of pigeon pose with the option of an over hand reach for the back foot with the aid of a strap. This class was filmed live March 28, 2022.

Breathing + Side Body Opening

For this class you will need blocks, a blanket, and a slider. We start off laying down for our warm up and explore a strong and stable core. This foundation helps us as we move into all fours a practice spinal balance. From there we work on shoulder stability before trying out side body lengthening from side plank. Breathing + Flow

For this class you need a bolster, blanket and blocks. We start off with stretches over the bolster to work on side body expansion. Next we do breathing work from the Postural Restoration Institute at the wall to practice 360 breathing and abdominal bracing that will be needed later in the yoga flow. From there we continue into standing poses and work on linking garudasana, warrior III and warrior 1 together. From there we work on headless headstand with the option of using blocks to support the upper back. This class was filmed live January 10, 2021.

Breathing + Squatting

We start out with a long reclining warm up sequence to really warm up our hips. From there we work on shoulders while standing. After we build strength and flexibility in a half squat. This all leads up to garudasana to warrior III poses. This class was filmed live January 8, 2022.,

Breathing + Balancing

For this class you will need a strap, blocks and a blanket. We start off laying down, have your strap near by for the leg stretches. We slowly warmup the whole body, dusting off the cob webs of our extended break. From there we work of opening up breathing in the back body and warming up the knees while seated. We then work on maintaining deep breathing in more challenging poses. Lastly we try our balancing out in garudasana pose. This class was filmed live January 4, 2022.

Breathing + Side Plank Fun

For this class you will need blocks and blankets.

We start out warming up and giving some love to all our joints, knees and ankles included. From there we build subtle and strong core stability to support the later work as well as shoulder mobility. We also sprinkle in breath work all throughout so that the end result is strong, breathable side planks!. This class was filmed live January 3, 2022.

Pigeon Pose Class

In this class we continue the work with the towel roll at the lumbar curve to find neutral. You will also need a bolster, blocks, blanket and strap. In this slow fluid class take the time to connect with your breathing, neutral spine and strong center as we move through different shapes. A long held pigeon pose helps us work lower in the standing poses. This class was filmed live December 4, 2021.

Restoring Neutral Spinal Curves

For this class you will need a spot at the wall, a small wash cloth, yoga blocks, a bolster, and a blanket. In this class we work with a washcloth under our lower back in the reclining warm up to support a neutral lumbar curve. Notice the depth of your breath when you have you natural curves. We bring this awareness into the standing poses. This class was filmed live November 30, 2021.

Restoring Neutral Spinal Curves in Preparing for Hanumanasana

For this class we start out at the wall, you will need a small wash cloth and a yoga block near by. From there we use blocks, blankets and a bolster throughout class.

In this class we use the washcloth as a spacer to support the neutral lumbar curve. Maintaining neutral curves allows for a long clear channel for your breathing. With this strong connection to breath while relaxing we then take this awareness on with us as we work in more active poses. This class will sneak you right into your splits pose. Breathing and Core Strength, Moving with Awareness

You will need blocks, wall space and a strap.

In this class we start off paying attention to our breathing. From this awareness we build the skill and strength of intra abdominal pressure. This skill helps us as we move more with intention and control throughout the warm up and into the standing poses. We use the wall again to continue with our spinal mobility work. From there we work on wide legged poses and link triangle and half moon together. This class was filmed live November 16, 2021.

Mindfulness Yoga Practice Part 1

For this class you will need yoga blocks and a blanket for padding and possibly some wall space. In this practice we move slower to leave room to notice, our breathing, our body, and our feeling sense in the poses. We start out slow with a slow warm up laying down. We gradually work into all fours and then standing poses. These slower longer holds have their own challenges, take this practice at your own pace and take breaks when you need them. Yoga with a Bolster

For this class you will need a bolster. If you dont have one you can roll up to yoga blankets together and many use masking tape to tape them together for the practice. You will also need yoga blocks and a strap.

For this practice we really slow down and focus on the breathing. The bolster offers lots of feedback all through out the practice. We start with a long reclining warm up, it can feel luxurious spending this extra time laying down and slowly unravel and open up into bigger stretches. From there we warm up the shoulders and wake up the legs in standing poses. We take a series of variations on belly down backbends leading to dhanurasana. This class was filmed live August 23, 2021.

Strength Building for Tree Pose Warrior III Flow

For this class we star out using a chair against the wall for stability and a block. You also may want a blanket for a pillow and then padding later on.

Lay down and take some deep breaths. From there we start to build up warmth in the body in some reclining stretches. We find all the muscles around the hips, think outer hips, adductors, hamstrings! From there we stand and continue on with out warm ups focusing on the shoulders. We put all this good work together in a balance challenge flow, moving from tree pose to warrior III to warrior 1 to standing splits. Feel free to pick and choose along the way with these flowing sequences and take breaks when you need them. From there we slow down with supportive bridge pose and a long rest. Move Your Hips and Spine

For this class you will need blocks and optional blanket for padding.

We work on strong and mobile hips in the warm up. Stable hips gives us a great base for the spine to rotate on. We also continue to check in with our breathing as a way to create more body awareness in the poses, can you still feel your breath down the length of your spine in the twists? We work up to revolved triangle in the standing poses. This class was filmed live July 20, 2021.

Skandasana Side Lunge Class

For this class you will need a resistance band, blanket for padding and blocks.

Warm up your shoulders in this reclining resistance band sequence. From there we strengthen the anterior abdominal wall and stretch out the hip flexors from kneeling. We work towards deeper squats and a slide lunging squat known in yoga as skandasana. This class was filmed live July 10, 2021 with the help of my friend Flora.
