Slow and Steady with Adductors

For this class you will need a blanket or two and blocks and some wall space.

We start out relining for the warm up and side lying to work on breathing, twisting, and adductor strength. From there we work on adductors again from all fours. The we move to standing for shoulder work and strengthening at the wall. We put it all together in a standing flow. This class was filmed live June 4, 2022.

Rotating From The Hips

For this class you will need blocks and a blanket.

We start off laying down and move into standing warm ups. We spend some extra time drawing the femur back into the sockets in preparation for the standing poses. This is another take on our anti-rotation work at we rotate from the hips rather than the spine. We end class with a relaxing stretch in pigeon pose before savasana.

Twisting + Wall Shoulder Work

For this class you will need a blanket, blocks, and wall space.

We start out laying down for the warm up. From there we work the spine in cat cows and then try a dynamic take on pigeon pose to get deeper into the hips. From there we warm up the shoulders at the all. Then we try out some challenging flows with standing poses. This class was filmed live April 16, 2022.

Twisting with Wall Support

For this class you will need some space at the wall. It will also be helpful to have two yoga blocks and a bolster.

We start off laying down to warm up. From there we progress to warm ups standing for the shoulders and then move to the wall to continue to work on shoulder mobility and then twisting with the aid of breathing. We slow down in pigeon pose for deeper hip stretching and then take a chest opener over the bolster. From there we work on active back bending and then finish with a standing pose flow. Pigeon Pose Work Part 2

For this class you will need blocks, a blanket, a strap and a bolster.

We start off with legs up the wall and our leg stretches at the wall. From there we continue to wam up the body while lying down. Then we work towards standing warm ups for the hips and shoulders. We work on twisting in the standing poses and then try out deeper hip work in pigeon pose over the bolster. This class was filmed live March 29, 2022.

Pigeon Pose Variations Part 1

For this class you will need a strap, bolster, blankets, and blocks.

We start out laying down and emphasis the breathing during the warm up. This can help create more space in the inner body and aid in ease of movement. From there we continue to work into the shoulders and rest of the body as well in standing. We flow through standing poses to get deeper into twists and build strength in the body. At then of class we try out an upright version of pigeon pose with the option of an over hand reach for the back foot with the aid of a strap. This class was filmed live March 28, 2022.

Pigeon Pose Class

In this class we continue the work with the towel roll at the lumbar curve to find neutral. You will also need a bolster, blocks, blanket and strap. In this slow fluid class take the time to connect with your breathing, neutral spine and strong center as we move through different shapes. A long held pigeon pose helps us work lower in the standing poses. This class was filmed live December 4, 2021.

Pigeon Pose Variations

For this class it is helpful to have a bolster or a couple of blankets folded up. You will also want blocks and a strap with a buckle.

We continue our hip strengthening work in this class. This helps prepare the hips well for our active pigeon pose variations. In these we work on back bending, core strength, stretching the back thigh, and extending the arms up and over head. This full body version of the pose is a wonderful active version of what otherwise is often a passive stretch. This class was filmed live Sept 11, 2021.

Hamstring Strength in Dancers Pose and Pigeon Pose

In this sequence we work on hamstring strength in a lengthened and shortened position, as well as anterior abdominal wall support. This helps to find support from the front and back body together. Hips for Lunging and Pigeon Pose

In this slow reclining warm up we works into some lung shapes with the support of the floor before we explore them further while standing. We end with a relaxing pigeon pose stretch or alternative.
